Fresh Fruit There is Nothing Better

I have mentioned before that I have a strong fondness for salad! I blame it on my mother who yes, I’ll admit it, is one of those ladies who goes to an amazingly fancy restaurant and orders a Salad. Not that there is anything wrong with that, but in my opinion if you go somewhere that specialises in Seafood or Meat, you try and utilise the opportunity to try something out of the ordinary but that’s just my humble opinion.
My love of Salad is proving to be quite annoying, I now feel incomplete if I do not have a seriously large portion of Salad throughout my day, I feel like I am a malnourished carnivore. I cannot stand going to a Pub and ordering a Steak (or any meat for that matter) which states on the menu it comes with salad or vege’s and when the Salad comes it consists of a few old pieces of rocket, 1 whole onion and a slice of Tomato.
I have been told that I would hate Ireland, Scotland, England and any other country that gets quite cold. Friends who just got back after travelling around for 8 weeks told me, no Salad or fresh veg is on ANY menu especially in the colder months.
This brings me to another point which basically is the purpose of this blog! Old Fruit or Veg why do people eat it? I am not just referring to fruit and veg that looks green and furry, I am talking about the stuff in a tin…I cannot stand anything but fresh.
If you disagree with me, I’d like to hear your thoughts, really!! I don’t know how you can justify eating tinned pears over real one? Tinned Tomato over home grown one? Frozen blueberries over fresh? Fair enough maybe the costs are slightly different but the texture let alone the artificial flavour enhancements really grind my gears.
Pre-packed Salads from Woollies or Coles…. fair enough it might be within the sued by. I swear to you, it always tastes different.
I know some people use old Banana’s for Banana bread, and frozen or tinned fruit for muffins, cakes, puddings…. that’s fine because I won’t eat that either. Hot Fruit….I think that’s the worst of all, even the texture is enough to send me to the toilet gagging.
I don’t know the problem with eating fruit how it is and how it was meant to be eaten?
For those who disagree with my thoughts, I challenge you to amend some of your old favourites and compare them.
Blueberry Muffins:
Instead grab a plain muffin or poppy seed and warm it up. Add some Ice-cream or just cream and throw in a couple of Fresh Blueberries. Delish!
Fruit Yogurt:
Go and buy a nice vanilla or honey flavoured yoghurt. Then add in some of your favourite fruit/s. It is bound to taste better then that gooey old fruit parts.
Pizza with Pineapple:
Say no to Pizza with pineapple.... Pizza options like Supreme without pineapple does not taste worse; in fact the presence isn’t missed. Ham and Pineapple should never be an option when choosing pizza..
